The Old Market Spring Cleaning

Art Project Banner Cleanup for Ice Cream

March 25th at 2 pm

The Old Market Business Association (OMBA) is looking to get its community involved in a fun cleanup project with the incentive of a free scoop of Ted & Wally’s ice cream afterward.  OMBA is looking for up to 30 volunteers to help clean The Old Market Art Project banners located at 11th & Howard on Saturday, March 25th at 2 pm. To sign up to volunteer go to: bit.ly/OMSpringClean

“The Old Market wants to get community members involved, because we know there is such a love for our district. What a fun and easy way to do that by helping us clean the Art Project banners around the site of the Mercer building,” said Troy Davis, OMBA President. “Then to be rewarded with a free scoop of Ted & Wally’s ice cream, is a cherry on top.”

The Old Market Art Project was created after the devastating fire in January 2016 to the Mercer Building which housed M’s Pub and other businesses. OMBA decided to sponsor a neighborhood beautification project with colorful art banners hanging on the fence surrounding the construction. Almost 300 works by area artists were submitted for consideration. Judges made their selection of 42 pieces which now hang on display thanks to generous contributions from many local sponsors.
