2018 Highlights from ODIDA

It has been a very busy season for the Omaha Downtown Improvement District this past year. We wanted to share with you a few of the highlights!

Green and Clean Updates

  • Doubled our team
  • Added full-time Gardener Colin in May & full-time Groundskeeper Mike in November
  • Jake has been on for a year as Maintenance Supervisor
  • Mark has been with us since 2012
  • Rebranded our team and equipment
  • 9 new dog waste stations throughout Downtown
  • New equipment: Pro-Vac street vacuum, power washer, 2 new utility vehicles, and a snow blower
  • Purchased 20 new cigarette towers
  • Perennials were purchased this year to maintain beautification all-year round
  • 7 new trees planted in the Old Market

Other Updates

  • Participated in Omaha Gives! raising about $800
  • Rebranded and added 6 new Downtown Ambassadors
  • ODID was featured on the front page of Omaha World-Herald in April
  • Chaired the Old Market Fall Festival Committee with 15,000 in attendance this year
  • Increased our Holiday Lights fixtures within The Old Market
  • Expanded our Security presence during weekdays and doubling on weekends

We look forward to all the changes 2019 brings to Downtown Omaha, and we are proud to be a part of it.
